Coltrane Book Launch

There was a very interesting book launch at the festival yesterday of a John Coltrane autobiography/Discography. It was launched by co-author Yasuhiro Fujioka (Fuji to his friends of which I am one I am proud to say!)

Fuji is a freelance jazz writer, photographer, producer and educator and a board member of the Coltrane Home, NY.

The book of over 800 pages is probably the most in depth and complete book on any musician and this edition has taken the authors over 13 years of research and work to produce.

Fuji has been a Coltrane addict for many years and at his home in Osaka, Japan has a museum 'Coltrane House of Osaka' dedicated to the life and works of John Coltrane.

Fujia, the museum and its contents are often used by film makers when documentaries or films about Coltrane are made.
