We have now driven through France & Italy and are in Peugia (North of Rome, south of Florence) for this great festival.
The festival opened on Friday night with concerts from Carla Bley, Chiara Civello, Mario Biondi, Pat Martino and Joe Locke.
We arrived yesterday (Saturday) and last night saw great sets in the arena Santa Guiliana from Stefano Bollani ('Carioca') and Caetano Veloso (Guitar) - then they joined forces for a final set together and then later at the Teatro Morlacchi Ivan Lins and band featuring Nnenna Freelon on vocals - a smooth bossa nova set from the Brazilian singer songwriter.
The theatres here are quite spectacular - well to be honest the whole place is spectacular, so latter in the week I will give you a little pictorial guide to Perugia and the great festival here.
